The third season of Taylor Sheridan’s hit Western series Yellowstone wrapped up last year with an absolute scorcher of a cliffhanger. The fate of Beth Dutton (played by Kelly Reilly) remains unknown heading into season four, though the series’ star has finally shared her thoughts on what could be the Paramount drama’s biggest instalment yet.
English star Kelly Reilly recently sat down to discuss all things Yellowstone after fans were blindsided by last year’s dramatic season three cliffhanger.
As the war for the Yellowstone heats up, ranch owner John Dutton (Kevin Costner) was suddenly gunned down after stopping to help a stranded motorist and her son.
Meanwhile, his son Kayce (Luke Grimes) was left fighting for his life against approaching attackers, whilst an explosive package was delivered to his daughter Beth’s office.
Although all signs are pointing to John and Kayce Dutton surviving into season four, Beth’s ambiguous fate after such a devastating attack remains unclear.
Speaking recently with Screenrant, Kelly Reilly confessed she isn’t able to confirm whether or not Beth will still be alive in Yellowstone’s next season.
She explained: “Yeah, the end of season three is a big cliffhanger.
“I’m not allowed to really say too much about whether or not I’m part of season four. In fact, I’m not allowed to say anything.”
However, her comments were released just days before Reilly confirmed she was at least on set in Yellowstone’s filming location in Montana for a recent charity auction.
The star fuelled speculation even further by confirming she already has a good handle on what goes down on the ranch when Yellowstone finally returns.
She also revealed that the series has wrapped up the shoot for season four, further raising hopes that the series will return for its traditional summer release date.
Reilly continued: “What I can say is that season four has been shot, and that it’s wonderful what happens. I will say that.”
Although his exact credits have yet to be confirmed, writer and director Taylor Sheridan returns as the principal creative force behind the next season.

The star also teased Yellowstone’s fourth instalment could be its best yet after the show’s popularity skyrocketed last year.
She went on: “It’s really mind-blowing and big and extravagant, and [EP] Taylor Sheridan came back.
“He writes every script, and he directed a bunch of them again, so I know it’s bigger than ever.”
Since the first season premiered back in 2018, Yellowstone has become a flagship series for the Paramount network.
More than five million US fans tuned in to catch the season finale last year, and the show’s viewership is set to expand even further as season three is released in other territories.
Touching on the popularity of the series, Reilly added: “I think the seasons are just getting better, personally.
“And our audience is getting bigger as well. It’s become a real thing.”
Her comments seem to imply Beth could indeed make her return to Yellowstone in season four, but fans will just have to wait for this year’s premiere to find out if she survived the devastating blast.
Yellowstone season 2 is available to download now and on DVD and Blu-ray March 15 in the UK.
