MARK Letheren is an English actor widely known for his popular roles in a number of long-running dramas.
While he has also appeared in a handful of films he is best-known for parts in Casualty and The Bill.
Who is Mark Letheren?
Mark Letheren was born on February 6, 1971, in Chelmsford, Essex.
He was educated at Ardingly College before going to Guildhall School of Music and Drama.
His first appearance in The Bill came in 1993 when he appeared in just one episode as the character Justin Adams.
Letheren made is first big screen appearance in Restoration in 1995 alongside Robert Downey Jr.
Over the years he has appeared in a number of hit TV shows including Wycliffe, A Touch of Frost, Wire in the Blood and Silent Witness.
He has made a name for himself thanks to his roles as journalist Simon Kitson in ITV’s drama The Bill and as Ben Harding in the BBC One drama Casualty.
Letheren has also made a number of stage appearances, most notably as the ‘stalker’ in musical adaptation of The Bodyguard, a role he played for two years from 2012.
Along with his acting roles he is also a photographer.
Is he married to Georgia Taylor?
Letheren is married to Coronation Street star Georgia Taylor, 41, whose real name is Claire Jackson.
She plays Toyah Battersby on the long-running soap.
They met on the set of the BBC One medical drama in 2008.
The northern screen star had joined the medical drama a year earlier as Ruth Winters, while Mark played Ben Harding.
They then married shortly after their romance blossomed.
Toyah Battersby first came to the Street in 1997 with the rest of her family, Leanne, Les and Janice.
She was a bit of a wild child but won over fans hearts.
In 2001 Georgia won the Best Dramatic Performance award at the British Soap Awards following her character’s horrific rape storyline.
In 2016 it was announced that Georgia would be reprising her role as Toyah and she returned to the cobbles on Christmas Day 2016.
Do Mark Letheren and Georgia Taylor have children?
The couple don’t have any children.
Alongside Taylor’s role in Coronation Street she has appeared in a handful of films including The Bank Job alongside Jason Statham and The History Boys where she played the character of Fiona.
She has also had roles in Life on Mars, Lewis and Midsomer Murders.
