GB News has been on air for over six weeks now and has had no problems in hitting headlines since its launch. From Andrew Neil taking a break two weeks into his tenure to Guto Harri taking the knee on air, the channel had attracted millions of viewers over the course of its first month on screens. And at the beginning of this week, GB News informed viewers they could now watch the channel 24/7 on YouTube – although it hasn’t quite gone to plan.
GB News is no stranger to a technical error here and there, with the likes of Neil and other hosts even addressing problems in the studio.
And now, it appears the tech problems have transferred onto the channel’s newly launched live YouTube stream.
During Wednesday’s stream of The Great British Breakfast, hosts Darren McCaffrey and Rosie Wright were abruptly replaced by the GB News logo on YouTube.
The stream had gone without a hitch until it hit the 8am mark, with the rest of the breakfast-time show being replaced by the channel’s emblem.
And it didn’t go unnoticed by disgruntled fans who’d been keen to stream the channel via the web service.
“#GBNews You really need to work on your YouTube feed,” one fan vented.
“It’s almost unwatchable due to the signal cutting out and being replaced by your logo.”
A second also queried: “Any reason why your YouTube link isn’t working @GBnews ???”
Another added: “@GBNEWS Your YOUTUBE live feed isn’t working and hasn’t for the past 20 minutes.”
While a fourth addressed GB News presenter and head of digital, Rebecca Hutson, directly: “@BeccaHutson nothing happening on GBNews YouTube feed.”
And a fifth joked: “Same for me…..has someone tripped over a lead?”
Luckily, the broadcast was still available and uninterrupted on the channel’s website and on TV.

The disruption to the channel’s feed comes just two days after it took to Twitter to announce the move onto YouTube.
“Good news Great Britain! GB news is now available to watch on YouTube 24 hours a day,” the channel tweeted to its 313.6k followers on Monday.
This was supposed to mean fans could stream all of the channel’s biggest shows with some of its newly signed up presenters.
Following Neil’s hiatus and Harri’s departure from the network, GB News announced two big names to join the channel.
Former Brexit Party leader Nigel Farage now fronts his own show at 7pm Mondays to Thursdays on the network.
And Mark Dolan has swapped TalkRadio for GB News to host his own Tonight Live show at the weekends.
Other presenters to appear on the channel include Neil Oliver, Andrew Doyle, Kirsty Gallacher, Rebecca Hutson and Alastair Stewart.
The Great British Breakfast airs daily at 6am on GB News.
