This Morning fans fume as caller wins holiday after ‘wrong’ Spin To Win answer

This Morning viewers were left rather annoyed today after a competition caller won the Spin to Win prize, despite getting the answer completely wrong.

Spin to Win is a popular game on This Morning that has been a running segment on the show for quite some time.

However, the game does come with its faults and many viewers have been quick to pick up on the obvious blunders that often occur.

Spin to Win is played throughout the week with different prizes up for grabs. To enter the game, viewers need to do download the This Morning app.

Once this is done they head to the win section, fill out the application form and remember the passphrase for the day.

On today’s This Morning, presenters Holly Willoughby and Philip Schofield spoke to a woman named Bernie from Liverpool, who said the word "hello" to the presenters instead of using today’s password – which was "lime".

When the lady said “hello” Philip responded by saying: “That was lime wasn’t it?”

Holly then questioned her answer and said: “She said hello?”

After a quick realisation of her apparent mistake, the caller then proceeded to repeat the word “lime”.

Philip then replied: “No I think she said it, I think you did."

Philip and Holly then spun the wheel in the studio and depending on where it landed, the lucky prize winner would receive either a UK break, a European holiday or an extra special ‘star holiday’.

On the first spin, the wheel landed on a holiday to the Canaries, which Bernie seemed very happy to win.

However, fans were not best pleased about the overall result and took to Twitter to air their concerns.

One annoyed viewer said: “Can imagine the lady that didn't win on #ThisMorning spin to win on Friday (she didn't get the catchphrase 100% right) was extremely p***** off today.”

Another commented: “The phrase for spin to win was not correct this morning, don’t see the point of entering if wrong answers are accepted.”

Whilst a third viewer went even further to report what they had seen to Ofcom and wrote: “@thismorning #spintowin @Ofcom very disappointed in today’s spin to win, I thought after Friday and Alison being strict (although Dermot wasn’t fussed) that maybe the behind the scenes people had a word and we would see ‘strict’ spin to win from now on. Very sad not the case.”

This Morning airs on weekdays at 10am on ITV.
