The Chase viewers went into meltdown on Twitter as a player made an epic blunder while answering a school-themed question – and she was a teacher.
Nicola was the final player to take on Chaser Jenny Ryan, but she suffered a cringeworthy fail during her cash-builder round.
Host Bradley Walsh read of the question: "What word describes the area served by a school?"
Nicola quickly blurted out: "Playground?"
The correct answer was a 'catchment area', and viewers were stunned over the player's mistake as she was a teacher.
One gobsmacked viewer watching the show tweeted: "She didn't get 'catchment'. A TEACHER!!!"
While another wrote: "'A teacher doesn't know what a catchment area is. God help us all"
"A teacher who's never heard of a catchment area", penned a third.
A fourth typed: "Playground ffs".
Nicola managed to answer two questioned correctly in her cash-builder, so earned £2k.
She decided to take the low offer of £1,000 as she wanted to make it back for the final Chase.
Sadly, Nicola was caught by Jenny, so it was just Niall left for the last round of the ITV show.
He managed to gain an impressive 16 step lead ahead of Jenny, known on the show as The Vixen, and was playing for £7,000.
Jenny was on top form tonight and she caught Niall with 28 seconds to spare.
Viewers were gutted for the player as he performed well throughout the episode.
They showered the contestant with praise, as one said: "Oh well! At least you got through Niall! Well done".
While another penned: "Niall take a bow, you did amazing!"
"Niall deserved that money", insisted another.
The Chase airs weekdays at 5pm on ITV.
