Shirley Ballas, 60, has become a household name as head judge on Strictly Come Dancing thanks to her opinions and clashes with her co-stars when critiquing celebrities on their performances. However, away from the glitz and glamour of the BBC dance show, the former professional dancer and co-judge Craig Revel Horwood, 55, had a disagreement several years ago after he made remarks about her breasts to a crowded room of fans whilst on a book tour. The pair have since made amends but Shirley told Ruth Langsford, 60, and Eamonn Holmes, 60, how she felt at the time, hitting back at what Craig had previously said.

Speaking about the incident – which is documented in her new book Behind The Sequins – the head judge explained she “didn’t think Craig realised at the time the issues she was going through.”

Shirley has since undergone surgery to remove breast implants after discovering there was a history of breast cancer in her family.

Although she understood her co-star might have made the comments in jest, she added: “You can’t take words back.”

“Unfortunately some things which are said to you are not humorous and I don’t need anyone to critique me.”

However, she went on to tell her interviewers her fellow judge did apologise and it is the thing she “most loves about him.”
