Stacey Solomon shares 'special' message she received years after sending sick little girl a teddy bear in hospital

STACEY Solomon shared a "special" message she received from the grandmother of a poorly little girl she showed kindness to many years ago.

The 31-year-old star was moved to receive the touching message on Instagram today, with the child's nanny recalling the moment Stacey sent her granddaughter a teddy bear.

Earlier today, the TV favourite shared her heartache as she paid tribute to Ashley Cain's daughter Azaylia, who passed away at eight months old following a battle with leukaemia.

Moved by Stacey's post, the follower replied to the story with her grandchild's own brave fight with childhood cancer.

They wrote to the mother-of-three: "I'm so sad for this precious bubba but she isn't in pain or suffering any more.

"I remember you with grateful thanks Stacey, my beautiful granddaughter was very poorly with a brain tumour and was in GOSH [Great Ormond Street Hospital].

"After her surgery, which was successful, she got a condition called Posterior Fossa Syndrome, she lost the ability to walk, talk, and even swallow.

"It took years of rehabilitation but she battled to regain everything she lost.

"Somebody told you her story and you sent her a teddy bear, I'll never forget your kindness to a lost and frightened little girl.

"Anabel is 19 now and studying at college. I just thought I'd thank you from her nanny."

Stacey was clearly moved by the message, sharing a screengrab with her followers and adding: "Laying in bed reading your messages and came across this.

"Spending time, writing back, visiting, meeting incredible people, fundraising, and working with charities is just so special and a true privilige.

"One that's been part of mine and the boys' lives for so long and we are so grateful for it. It will never not be a massive part of our lives, stumbling onto this message was just so special."

Neither Stacey, who shot to fame on The X Factor in 2009, or Anabel's nanny revealed how long ago the sweet interaction took place.

Stacey was feeling reflective before she went to sleep this evening, having previously shared a sweet black and white video of youngest son Rex giving her a kiss.

She'd written at the time: "Goodnight… Thinking of you all tonight. The world can be so beautiful and yet so painful.

"We only have now. Nothing is guaranteed. Thank you for making every now a little brighter. Love you lots, always."
