Soaps rating battle as hour long Emmerdale clashes with EastEnders tonight

Schedules have changed for the soaps tonight as an hour-long Emmerdale will clash with EastEnders over on BBC One.

The schedule alteration will also see a rare hour-long episode of Coronation Street air, which will clash with Holby City on BBC One and The Great British Bake Off over on Channel 4.

When are the soaps airing tonight?

Tonight’s schedule will be:

ITV:

Emmerdale – 7-8pm

Coronation Street – 8-9pm

BBC One:

EastEnders – 7:30-7:50pm

Holby City – 7:50-8:30pm

Channel 4:

The Great British Bake Off – 8-9:15pm

Why have the schedules changed tonight?

Emmerdale and Coronation Street will air tonight because of Live International Football airing this Friday (November 12).

Emmerdale’s 60-minute episode will mean viewers will have to choose whether to watch the ITV soap as it airs, or the episode of EastEnders on BBC One.

Watching EastEnders will see soap fans miss 20 minutes of the Emmerdale episode.

What happens in Emmerdale tonight?

Jai Sharma (Chris Bisson) faces a struggle tonight when the Health and Safety officer arrives at HOP to investigate the business following the terrible survival challenge.

The survival challenge all happened under the HOP name, which means Jai will have to try and save himself and HOP as he’s questioned about the bridge collapse and maze fire.

What happens in EastEnders tonight?

Over in EastEnders, Sharon (Letitia Dean) will be dealing with the news baby Alyssa is actually Dennis’ daughter.

After believing he may be Alyssa’s father, Zack (James Farrar) was left stunned when Alyssa’s mother, Jada, revealed Sharon’s son is actually the dad.

How Sharon will deal with the news remains to be seen, but given this is a new connection to her now dead son, will Sharon continue spending time with Alyssa?
