Maisie Smith admits rivalry with this fellow Strictly Come Dancing celeb

EastEnders actress Maisie Smith has revealed she has a rivalry with a particular celebrity on this year's Strictly Come Dancing.

The red-headed star appeared on on spin-off show, Strictly Come Dancing: It Takes Two, on Thursday evening where she spoke about her experience on the dance floor so far.

Presenting the show, Ryan Clark-Neal asked Maisie, 19, about her friendship with one star on the show: "You and HRVY are joint first at the top of that leaderboard.

"Now I know you've always had that friendly banter, but secretly are you like, 'Right, I'm knocking him off next week. That's it, he's off the top of the leaderboard'?"

Clearly amused by the question, Maisie responded: "When we first started, he really made it out to be like, 'Oh, I'm not gonna be very good'."

To which Rylan responded: "He's a liar! He's a liar!" as Maisie agreed: "Yeah! Then he came out and did that jive! And we were like, 'Oh okay!' So yeah, there's a bit of rivalry now because he actually fooled me a little bit."

Maisie's comments come after YouTube star HRVY hinted at him and the actress being more than just pals.

The 21-year-old revealed that he is "excited to see how things blossom" between him and the EastEnders beauty as they both compete for the glitter ball trophy.

Writing for OK! Magazine, HRVY penned: "I've actually seen her the least out of everyone because she's not been in any of my rehearsal spaces.

"But yeah, Maisie really is so lovely and beautiful – she's a really good friend of mine and I think she's an amazing dancer.

"Not a lot can really happen between us because we have to be two metres apart, but I am a little excited to see how things blossom."

HRVY and Maisie have excited fans after being caught flirting on social media with cheeky comments on one another's posts.

However, an insider told the Sun that Strictly bosses are keeping a an eye on them to ensure they don't breach social distancing rules with a romance.
