Writers, producers and co-showrunners Ildy Modrovich and Joe Henderson have prompted tears from Lucifer fans by confirming the official title of the series’ final episode. The release of season six on Netflix is still a long way out, but streamers are still getting their tissues ready after spotting the latest update.
Lucifer’s co-showrunners have confirmed the last episode of the series will be titled ‘Partners ‘Til the End’.
Ildy Modrovich took to her personal Twitter page to share the news with her writing partner, Joe Henderson, prompting ecstatic reactions from ‘Lucifans’.
Both Modrovich and Henderson are credited as writers for the series finale, with series mainstay Sherwin Shilati stepping in as director.
The title has tipped fans off to an emotional end for the show’s central pairing, Lucifer Morningstar (played by Tom Ellis) and Chloe Decker (Lauren German).
The two crime-solvers finally made their partnership romantic at the start of season five after the devil confessed his love for Chloe at the end of season four.
Following a devastating cliffhanger finale, Lucifer returned last year and ‘Deckerstar’ finally made things official.
Season six’s bittersweet finale seems to confirm their partnership will last until the final moments of the series.
Down in the comments, fans could hardly contain their emotions after being given their first clue for how the beloved series will eventually come to an end.
One fan replied: “Guys. I want you to know that simply by reading the title you brought tears to my eyes.
“I think you can take that as a job well done. Cannot wait to see your final piece of work.”
“This is the most perfectly fitting title to end the show with,” said another.
It’s hoped both Lucifer and Chloe will survive the finale, though the title could certainly contain an ominous double meaning.

‘Partners ‘Til the End’ could very well refer to another apocalyptic event Lucifer and co. are unable to prevent.
Furthermore, many fans have speculated the pair could meet their proverbial end in season six and spend the rest of eternity relaxing in Heaven.
The news arrived shortly after Netflix confirmed new episodes of Lucifer would be hitting screens in just under two months.
Following a lengthy midseason hiatus, season 5b will finally be released on Friday, May 28.
Meanwhile, production on the show’s sixth and final season has just started to wind down on the Warner Bros. studio lot in Los Angeles.
The cast all wrapped their final day of filming last week, with series regulars Aimee Garcia and Lesley-Ann Brandt sharing their tearful goodbyes on social media.
No release date has currently been set for season six, though all ten episodes of Lucifer’s final instalment aren’t expected to reach Netflix until 2022.
Lucifer Season 5, Part 2 will be released on Friday, May 28 on Netflix.
