Jersey Shore: Family Vacation will return with a season 6 according to Mike “The Situation” and Lauren Sorrentino. The MTV stars shared the big news with fans regarding season 6 of the Jersey Shore spinoff. Here’s everything we know about Jersey Shore: Family Vacation getting renewed.
Season 6 of ‘Jersey Shore: Family Vacation’ is confirmed
In the “We’re Back to Spread Some Positivity!” episode of the Here’s the Sitch podcast, Mike shared good news with JSFV fans. “We also did get greenlit for another season — actually two seasons — of Jersey Shore: Family Vacation,” the reality star said. Whether he means season 6 part A and B or season 6 and season 7 is unclear.
Showbiz Cheat Sheet reached out to Mike and Lauren’s representatives as well as MTV for comment. Neither replied by the time of publication.
‘Jersey Shore: Family Vacation’ cast will start filming season 6 soon
As Mike and Lauren discussed on the podcast, filming for new episodes of Jersey Shore: Family Vacation is slated to begin in the next few weeks. Since the turnaround time for the second half of season 5 was record-breaking, fans might get to see new episodes before the end of 2022.
MTV could potentially air the first half of season 6 sometime between September and December 2022 and return with the second half of the new season in 2023. If not, fans will get both halves (or seasons) in 2023.
The second half of season 5 airs Jerzday June 23
Mike, Lauren, and several other Jersey Shore stars like Jenni “JWoww” Farley are “hype” for fans to see the new season of JSFV. The show returns with new episodes at 8 p.m. ET on June 23.
“This season is wild,” Lauren said in the June 7 episode of the Here’s the Sitch podcast. This season, the cast traveled to San Diego for a family vacation, plus some of the original cast went to El Paso, Texas to see Pauly DelVecchio perform.
“It’s definitely a doozy of a season,” Mike added. “The trailer was definitely lit.”
Mike ‘The Situation’ teases season 5 drama
Mike also teased some of the drama that’s to come in the new season of Jersey Shore: Family Vacation. “I’ve been on TV for 14 years and I’m gonna tell how it is,” Mike said. “At the same time I’m still the same positive Mike, but if some of your decisions affect me then I’m going to … air you out and let you know how I feel.”
It’s unclear which of his roommates Mike is alluding to and he stopped himself before giving too much away. He could be referring to Angelina Pivarnick, who is currently going through a divorce, or possibly even Ronnie Ortiz-Magro, who may or may not return in new episodes.
Lauren also teased the drama to come, adding how there are things that happen this season many fans will “be surprised by.” Later in the episode, Mike called the season “polarizing.”
Fans will have to tune in to Jersey Shore: Family Vacation on June 23 to find out how the rest of season 5 plays out. Catch up on previous seasons of Jersey Shore: Family Vacation on MTV.
