Has Mercedes killed someone in Hollyoaks crash horror?

It’s been a tough year for Mercedes McQueen (Jennifer Metcalfe) in Hollyoaks, and things are set to get much worse for her as she’s involved in a car crash — but the accident itself might turn out to be the least of her worries!

Mercedes has been struggling quite a bit this year and it’s no surprise given that the murder of her husband Russ Owen (Stuart Manning) — an incident which took place on the pair’s wedding day, no less — is still a fresh wound.

Since her hubby’s demise, Mercedes has been taking care of Russ’ son, Max (Gabriel Lawrence) — a task which has proven rather difficult for her considering she already has Bobby (Jayden Fox) to look after. The return of Nicole (Ciara Janson) — Russ’ sister — only made matters worse, as Max made it clear he’d prefer to live with his aunt.

Mercedes might have had it tough as of late, but she’ll soon find herself with a whole other set of worries. This week, Liam Donovan (Jude Monk McGowan) stumbles across an emotional Mercedes. Determined to cheer her up, he suggests that they go out and have some fun together. Mercedes ultimately agrees, and the pair end up stealing Harry Thompson’s (Parry Glasspool) car.

When their spin comes to an end, Mercedes begins to drive back home. However, the good atmosphere is soon spoilt by an argument between the two, and as they bicker with one another, the car swerves and hits into some road works.

Afterwards, Mercedes and Liam both regain consciousness and are seemingly unharmed. However, Mercedes is distressed, as she’s certain that the car hit someone during the commotion. Determined to put her mind at rest, Liam exits the vehicle and takes a look around. And he spots a shoe.

Mercedes was right — someone collided with the car. However, Liam kicks the shoe out of Mercedes’ line of sight, so that she remains none-the-wiser.

The big question is: who did Mercedes hit? Not only that, but is the person dead? If so, then the young woman’s troubles are going to get much worse before they get better — that is, if they get better at all!
