GMB’s Piers Morgan takes brutal swipe at Phillip Schofield ‘Don’t have to pretend anymore’

GMB: Piers and Susanna discuss having ‘weird dreams’

Piers Morgan, 55, was on hand to present the first instalment of Good Morning Britain this week with co-host Susanna Reid, 50. With coronavirus still playing havoc with regards to social events, the pair spoke about several television awards shows that would usually take place in January being postponed until later in the year. The Life Stories star, therefore, addressed a light-hearted rivalry with This Morning’s Phillip Schofield, 58, and Holly Willoughby, 39, and how the latter pair would be receiving any accolades.

The controversial journalist said he “wouldn’t be beaten” in the award for best daytime presenter by his colleagues.

As he and Susanna joked about the rivalry over such an accolade, the broadcaster took a swipe at Phillip by saying: “I don’t have to pretend I’m part of their big happy ITV family.”

Piers continued to make quips, saying he “couldn’t cope” with Holly’s “puppy dog eyes,” as he explained how jealous he gets when the pair win the accolades.

Commenting on her co-star’s remarks, Susanna added Piers “wasn’t bitter in the slightest”.
