Netflix will be honouring legendary country singer-songwriter Dolly Parton this month with a brand-new series. Dolly Parton’s Heartstrings will look at a number of the star’s biggest hits as she offers commentary on some of her tracks. The show will also feature dramatic interpretations of her songs with actors bringing the music to life on screen.

Dolly Parton’s Heartstrings will be released on Netflix on November 22.
There will be a total of eight episodes in the show which will be made available all at once.
Heartstrings is an anthology series with standalone stories like Black Mirror.
The show will be putting Parton’s music front and centre with each episode focusing on a different song from the country’s back catalogue.

Heartstrings is a celebration of Parton’s music career and each instalment will explore a different track including Jolene and Two Doors Down.

Each episode appears to have a different cast to accompany the self-contained story.
According to IMDb, other cast members include Julianne Hough, Athena Akers, Ny’Jal Blair and Colin O’Donoghue, among others.
Is there a trailer for Dolly Parton’s Heartstrings?
Yes, Netflix dropped a trailer for Heartstrings which sees Parton take centre-stage as she says: “Songs, they’re just stories put to music. Songs that I’ve written, they’re stories of my life.
“Every triumph, every struggle, every smile, every sorrow. It’s the melody of my memories. It’s the sound of my heartstrings.”
Parton also posted to her 4.8 million Twitter followers about the trailer, writing: “Ever since I was a little girl I’ve dreamed of turning my songs and stories into movies for the world to see…and here they are.
“Eight stories inspired by eight of my songs! “Heartstrings” premieres November 22 only on @netflixfamily ! #DollyNetflix.”
The teaser then features footage from the eight episodes and the different stories.
Some of the scenes make for emotional viewing as fans are given snippets of life, death and love which are reminiscent of award-winning NBC drama This Is Us.
As well as the different stories, the trailer also confirms which songs are going to be getting a dramatic treatment.
Not only does the trailer pay tribute to Parton’s work but it’s also an introduction of her music for newcomers.
Heartstrings is an innovative concept and if popular, could spawn a new genre of television.
