Death in Paradise: Ralf Little says Ben Miller return was ‘special’
Death in Paradise star Ralf Little, who plays DI Neville Parker and Josèphine Jobert, who stars as DS Florence Cassell joined Susanna Reid and Ben Shephard on Good Morning Britain. Ralf was asked about the mysterious return of DI Richard Poole (Ben Miller) as the BBC actor hinted how it might be possible for the deceased detective to make an appearance.
Ben said: “Josèphine was saying she was glad she didn’t get killed off so she could come back.
“Ben Miller did get killed of course. He’s ending up in Bridgeton but we understand Ralf he could be making a reappearance in this series somehow.”
“I’m going to have to plead that old one and say you’re going to have to wait and watch,” Ralf replied.
“But yes you are correct. He was indeed killed off in the show with an icepick through the chest and he’s back.

“It’s a lovely thing really. We have him and Sara Martins returning for the 10th series.
“It’s just lovely. It felt when they were there that it was magical. I’m a big fan of when Marvel Cinematic Universe do crossovers and when Doctor Who gets doctors together.
“So the fact that we had the chance to do something similar with Ben it was pretty special.”
Ralf went on to discuss the current coronavirus restrictions he faces in Floria where he’s currently residing.

Reid asked: “The US under Trump got a hammering when it came to Covid. What is daily life like when you’re out there?”
“Honestly pretty normal,” Ralf shared. “There aren’t really any restrictions, not even any place you go to requests that it’s mandatory to wear masks.
“So it’s the case of how sensible you want to be and how much do you want to follow the science.
“Luckily I’m here staying with my other half and her family and luckily they follow science and understand what it means.”

“We’re taking very careful precautions but I have to say I lucked out, I’ve got the best of both worlds,” he continued.
“I’m able to go to the beach and go in the sunshine but also I’m able to look after myself. Hope that’s not rubbing it in for anyone.”
Elsewhere, Josèphine revealed she was surprised to be asked to return to the BBC series.
“You’ve had a couple of years away,” Ben said. “Were you ever expecting to go back after you’d left?”
“I thought I would come back as a guest in a special episode for example because they didn’t kill me in series eight,” Josèphine replied.
“But for a whole series? No, never because when I left I was really sure of my choice.
“I said, ‘Okay it’s the end for me’ but when I received the call I was very surprised and very excited and very flattered.”
“I hesitated for a while and then I thought ‘It’s the 10th anniversary I love this show I have to go back on this island and do it’ and I don’t regret it at all.”
Death in Paradise continues on BBC One tonight at 9pm.
