Coronation Street fans fear for Jenny Connor as Stephen Reids downfall looms

Coronation Street fans are concerned for Jenny Connor (played by Sally Ann Matthews) as she grows closer to murderer Stephen Reid (Todd Boyce).

Last year, the Canadian businessman accidentally killed Jenny’s fiance Leo Thompkins (Joe Frost) after he threatened to expose his lies.

Convincing everyone that Leo had fled the country, the Weatherfield residents remain none the wiser about the brutal killing.

However, his killing spree didn’t end there as he went on to claim the lives of Leo’s dad Teddy Thompkins (Grant Burgin) and Rufus Donahue (Steve Meo).

Although he’s managed to get away with murder so far, it looks as though his past is catching up to him after a body was uncovered at a building site.

Unaware of the body, who will later be revealed as Leo, Stephen and Jenny seem loved up as she confessed she hasn’t been this happy since her engagement.

As viewers watched the incidents unfold on Tuesday night’s episode, many have aired their concern for Jenny as they fear what Stephen will do once Leo’s murder comes to light.

@RyanTheSoapking commented: “I’m really worried for Jenny once Stephen’s killer secret comes out. The sooner she gets away from him the better.”

@Matt_johnson_89 added: “Someone needs to get Jenny away from Stephen NOW.”

Coronation Street fans will know Stephen will get his comeuppance as boss Iain MacLeod told the Loose Women panel his reign of terror will come to an end.

Speaking on the show earlier this year, he said: “It’s a soap, bad guys always get their comeuppance in the end, don’t they?

“So yes, 100 per cent. There’s a lot of fun to be had between now and then I will say.”

Coronation Street continues Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays on ITV from 8pm.
