Britney Spears jokes she looks like 'that girl' in ex Justin Timberlake's video 20 years after he wrote song about her

BRITNEY Spears joked she looked just like the girl in Justin Timberlake's Cry Me A River video in her latest Instagram clip.

The famous 2002 video portrays Justin catching a girl who looked like Britney 'cheating' on him.

Britney, 39, strutted her stuff in an Instagram video wearing a selection of her old outfits.

One of them was a trademark flat cap she used to wear back when she dated Justin, 40.

She captioned the video: "Thoughts while making this video …

Hmmmm something looks familiar ….

The hat …. wait I look like that girl in the Justin Timberlake video with that hat in Cry Me A River !!!

Oh s*** that’s ME !!! I’m Britney Spears ??? I guess I forget that sometimes."

The pop stars dated from 1999 to 2002 after first meeting as pre-teens on The Mickey Mouse Club.

After their messy split, Justin was said to have portrayed Britney in his Cry Me A River video where she 'cheats' on him.

The track, produced by hitmaker Timbaland, was one of his biggest to date.

STAR COUPLE

Meanwhile Britney recently reminisced on a sweet moment during her relationship with Justin, 40, in an Instagram post on Thursday.

The singer shared a series of photos of her iconic dress from the 2001 VMAs, which she called one of her "favorite" looks she's ever worn.

The mother of two remembered her performance that night with Mick Jagger, as she entered a cage with a "live tiger."

Britney explained that her nerves took over before the show began, and how Justin stepped in to comfort her.

"Geez … this is me before my VMAs performance with @MickJagger 20 years ago !!!!" she began.

"This is one my my favorite dresses I've ever worn 👗 and it's simple black lace !!!!
