'What a coward' – Arsenal legend Keown FUMES at Tottenham fan who KICKED Aaron Ramsdale after fiery North London derby | The Sun

ARSENAL legend Martin Keown has slammed the “coward” Tottenham fan that KICKED Aaron Ramsdale after the North London derby.

The disgraceful attack took place at full-time after the Gunners beat Spurs 2-0 at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium thanks to a Hugo Lloris' own goal and Martin Odegaard.

Ramsdale bickered with opponent Richarlison at the end of the game and the forward angrily pushed the keeper in the side of the head.

As a steward led the England international away to the edge of the pitch, a supporter climbed over the barricade in the Tottenham section and kicked the shot stopper as he reached down to grab his water bottle.

Players from both sides then ran over to try and diffuse the tensed situation.

Spurs have taken immediate action by condemning the fan's behaviour and vowed to issue an "immediate ban".

Ramsale slammed the behaviour afterwards, now former Gunners star Keown has slammed the “unacceptable” fan’s actions.

The 56-year-old, who landed himself in hot water in the early 2000s for shoving Manchester United’s Ruud van Nistelrooy at full-time as he celebrated his rival’s late penalty miss, told the Daily Mail: “I played in enough north London derbies to know that, when you are Arsenal and you are away at Tottenham, you are walking into a cauldron of emotions.

“Aaron Ramsdale did not do anything wrong at full time. His celebrations were not over the top.

“But that Tottenham fan responded by kicking Arsenal’s goalkeeper then running away like a coward. That was totally unacceptable.”

However, after his old club stretched their lead at the top to eight points, he was adamant that the disgusting incident should not be the focus point as he claimed Ramsdale has now proven that he should be England’s No.1 after another fine performance.

He added: “We cannot let that ugly ending overshadow the way that Arsenal — and Ramsdale — won this game.

“To a man, they were outstanding. For me, Ramsdale has now overtaken Jordan Pickford to become the best English goalkeeper in the Premier League.

“Ramsdale was named player of the match but in truth, that honour could have gone to anyone in the Arsenal side, such was the quality of this performance from the league leaders.”
