Saido Berahino looking to terminate Stoke contract and leave on free transfer this summer amid Fenerbahce talks

SAIDO BERAHINO could end his Stoke nightmare and join Fenerbahce next season on a free with his agent aware of interest from Turkey.

The Burundi international has scored three goals in 23 Championship appearances this season.

The 25-year-old was arrested for drink driving in London in February, but denies the accusations with a trial set for May 15.

But his future could remain uncertain until the end of the trial, with the Super Lig club interested in his services.

Berahino is also interested in terminating his contract which expires in 2022, which could make a free transfer possible, according to a man claiming to be his agent.

This would be to the delight of Stoke fans, who are unimpressed with his return, despite dropping down a division into the Championship.

He has only made one start and one appearance off the bench since Nathan Jones took over in January.

Agent Ozgur Sancar said: "We haven’t reached an agreement with anybody, but we are talking.

"I don’t have direct contact with Fenerbahce, but I know they are showing interest in Berahino.

"People close to Fenerbahce also tell me that."
