Bryson DeChambeau’s humbling Masters run hasn’t gone unnoticed by Paige Spiranac.
The bulked-up golf sensation, who barely made the cut on Saturday, struggled early on in the tournament with much buzz surrounding his driver preference — a 48-inch driver, to be exact. On Friday, Spiranac took to Twitter with a cheeky jab at DeChambeau’s performance.
“Lesson learned from Bryson this week guys. It’s not how long your shaft is but how you use it,” Spiranac replied to one follower who tweeted, “Its that 48 inch driver he uses.”
Spiranac’s tweet, which has since been “liked” nearly 8,000 times, had Brooks Koepka “crying laughing” on Sunday morning.
As of Sunday, Dustin Johnson continues to surge ahead at Augusta, while DeChambeau — who also endured a COVID-19 scare — has fallen down the leaderboard, finishing the tournament 2-under.
This isn’t the first time Spiranac has singled out DeChambeau. In July, the 27-year-old influencer called out the golfer’s behavior on her “Playing A Round” podcast.
“I thought he was doing things that were different, innovative and he is who he is, and I respect that. But in the last three weeks or so, it’s been really hard to be a Bryson fan,” Spiranac said, according to News.com.au. “He’s kind of crossed that line from being different to just being a d–k.”
Over the summer, DeChambeau debated with a PGA official about an out-of-bounds decision during the Memorial Tournament in Ohio.
In September, Spiranac congratulated DeChambeau on his first US Open win.
“It’s fun to give Bryson s–t at times but you have to give him so much credit for sticking to his guns despite all the hate and now he gets to call himself a US Open Champion. Well deserved win,” she tweeted at the time.
