Jamie O'Hara brands Europa Conference League 'Dog and Duck Cup' and says he doesn't care about Tottenham's dismal loss

FORMER Tottenham star Jamie O'Hara has branded the Europa Conference League the 'Dog and Duck Cup'.

The ex-midfielder also claims he doesn't care about the competition after Spurs lost 1-0 to Portuguese side Pacos de Ferreira.

O'Hara told talkSPORT: "I've been giving it to Arsenal fans, calling them Banter FC, and then we go get beat by a chocolate bar.

"Ferrero Rocher 1 Spurs 0, embarrassing. But I could not care less. It's the Dog and Duck Cup. Who wants to be in it anyway?"

O'Hara's 'Banter FC' opinion came on Wednesday as he discussed Arsenal's transfer policy with talkSPORT co-presenter Jason Cundy.

The 34-year-old has been ridiculed on social media for his comments after making more than half of his 56 Spurs appearances in cup competitions.

One fan on twitter wrote: "To be fair, this competition was O'Hara's standard when he was playing!"

While another tweeted: "He'd probably be running down the street naked if Spurs went and won it."

And one posted: "Spurs should go for it – could be their only realistic chance of winning a trophy this year."

As O'Hara finished his rant, co-presenter Cundy highlighted Harry Kane's reported desire to leave Tottenham for rivals Manchester City.

Cundy said: "And you wonder why Harry Kane wants to leave? Kane's sitting at home watching that tripe thinking, 'I might have to play in this competition.'

"He's watching you play a perfume rolled up with a chocolate bar and he's thinking, 'I might actually have to put a Spurs shirt on – to represent the club – in this competition.'

"Jay, you would want to leave, wouldn't you?"

Despite the banter, Pacos de Ferreira have lifted more trophies than Spurs in the last 13 years – winning the Portuguese second tier in 2019.
