AN ARGENTINE DJ has gone to extraordinary lengths to defend himself after being blamed for Lionel Messi catching coronavirus.
Paris Saint-Germain confirmed on Saturday that Messi, 34, was one of four players testing positive for Covid.
And after online abuse, DJ Fer Palacio, 31 – who was pictured at a New Year's party with the former Barcelona star – has been forced to post a negative test result on Instagram to prove he isn't to blame.
Messi is now in quarantine at home in his native city of Rosario after he was forced to miss his flight back to Paris and extend stay in his homeland.
The seven-time Ballon d’Or winner jetted to Argentina on December 23rd to spend Christmas and New Year's Eve with his family.
Messi and his wife, Antonela Roccuzzo, were filmed singing and dancing at a private party earlier this week.
The same night the footballer met famous Argentinian DJ Palacio after hiring him to perform at the bash.

And Palacio said he took the decision to defend himself after being called an 'assassin' by social media haters.
The DJ said on his Instagram on Sunday: “I’ve just got up and seen I’ve got a lot of messages and am trending on social media because Messi tested positive for Covid and people are saying I gave it to him.
"I’ve got loads of private messages and people have even gone as far as calling me an assassin.
"I had done a Covid test yesterday because I have to travel to Uruguay tomorrow and I haven’t got Covid.
"I’ll show you all now.”
He finished his selfie video by blowing a kiss to those 'insulting him' before posting his negative PCR test result, in his full name of Fernando Palacio on his Instagram so his one million followers could see it.
After performing for Messi earlier this week, the DJ posted a selfie pic of him with the football star and wrote: "I made the greatest dance.
“Thanks to the whole Messi family for the invitation.”
PSG has said Messi will remain in Argentina until he tests negative and will then take a flight back to Paris to re-join his teammates.
The Argentine last played for PSG in their 1-1 draw with FC Lorient on December 22.
