A Gerwyn Price super-fan has shown his support for the darts ace in one of the most extreme ways possible – by getting a tattoo of his idol inked on his body.
The Welshman is one of the most divisive characters in the sport but it seems his supporters are just as passionate as his detractors if the fan in question is anything to go by.
Price met the fan ahead of the Nordic Darts Masters, part of the World Series, which is taking place in the Danish capital Copenhagen this weekend and shared a picture on his Instagram story.

Price looks delighted as he points to the impressive piece of body art, which is on the fan’s upper arm. It is fair to say the tattoo triggered a mixed reaction from darts fans on social media, with many fans pointing out that the image of Price is missing an important piece of equipment – the infamous ear-defenders he donned for a set during his World Championship quarter-final defeat to Gabriel Clemens.
“When is he going back to have it finished,” asked one fan. “You forgot the ear muffs,” quipped another.
A third wrote: “Be better with headphones on the tattoo.” Another added: “Can I be the 1,000th person to saying its missing the ear defenders.”
Someone felt the image looked more like a Manchester United defender. “Why does he have a tattoo of Phil Jones,” they asked.

One worried fan said the scene reminded them of the episode of ‘I’m Alan Partridge’ when Alan meets super-fan Jed Maxwell, who also had a tattoo of Steve Coogan’s comedy character as well as a Partridge shrine in his house.
Price began his Nordic Masters campaign with a clinical 6-0 victory over local qualifier Benjamin Reus 6-0. Price averaged over 98, landed 54% of his doubles and didn’t afford his opponent a single shot at the outer ring.
Price then booked a place in tonight's (Saturday) semi-finals with a 10-7 victory over Dimitri Van den Bergh
