    ANTONIO VALENCIA played his final game for Manchester United in yesterday's 2-0 defeat to Cardiff.

    The 33-year-old's contract expires this summer and United have decided against offering him a new deal.

    Valencia, who will be part of the Ecuadorian side for this summer's Copa America, has hinted he wants to continue playing football for at least “two or three more years.”

    THE scale of the summer job ahead of Ole Gunnar Soljskaer was evident as his side laboured to a horrible 2-0 defeat to Cardiff.

    Old Trafford was almost empty at the final whistle and Ole has a huge job over the summer to win back hearts and minds.

    One name on the list is Gedson Fernandes, but Spurs will battle United for the signing of the Benfica midfielder, according to reports.

    The young star, who has been valued at £35million, looks set for a Premier League move at the end of the season.

    Whilst there looks set to be a summer Old Trafford swoop for Everton midfielder Idrissa Gueye to revitalise Paul Pogba.

    Pogba, 26, has shown glimpses of his best form under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, but he has routinely been slated for not turning up in the big matches.

    And according to reports, Gueye is being targeted by United who want to sign a midfield warrior type to extract the best out of their failing Frenchman.

    Whilst Leicester have reportedly put a contingency plan in place should they lose defensive lynchpin Harry Maguire.

    Maguire, 26, has had no shortage of interest and was linked to a move to Manchester last summer – which could come finally come to fruition after United's defensive woes this term
