  • Jamie Carragher claims Shkodran Mustafi is 'nowhere near good enough' for Arsenal.

Despite being a known critic of David Luiz he 'understands' why the Gunners would sign the defender from Liverpool as its an improvement from Mustafi.

Who is estimated to sell for as little as £15 million, with the Gunners struggling to even get him to go on loan.

  • ARSENAL spent £143 million this summer despite reports of only having a £45 million transfer budget.

The fans aren't complaining, just confused as to how the Gunners did so well this transfer window.

Managing director Vinai Ventaktesham explained “The number never came from us… we never ever, ever talk about how much money we have to spend” when asked about the reported low budget.

However, media reports estimate that Arsenal's actual cash outlay this summer was only approximately £46 million as player sales contributed greatly to the summer transfer budget.

  • ARSENAL are trying to offload Shkodran Mustafi before the European transfer windows close in three weeks’ time.

And they could even allow the struggling German to go out on loan just to get his £80,000-a-week salary off their wage bill.

Manager Unai Emery has told Mustafi that he does not have a future at the Emirates and needs to restart his career with another club.

The 27-year-old centre-half cost £35million when he was signed from Valencia three years but could now be sold for as little as £15m.

  • FIVE-YEAR contract for a 33-year-old?! No wonder Laurent Koscielny forced his way out.

  • ARSENAL had the best transfer window, according to Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher.

The Gunners turned a £45million budget into the signings of Nicolas Pepe, Kieran Tierney and Dani Ceballos amongst others.

Arsenal also welcomed David Luiz for just £8m, as well as Gabriel Martinelli and William Saliba – who will spend the year on loan at St Etienne.

When asked about who had the best summer, Carragher said: “I’m looking at Arsenal.

“Not so much as in I think they are going to challenge for the title, I still think they will be there or thereabouts in the top four.

“But when you think about the pessimism after the Europa League final and how far they were away from Chelsea in that game.”
