My husband only wants to have sex if he's drunk — it's making me body-conscious

DEAR DEIDRE: SEX only happens when my husband is drunk.

I’m 28 and he’s 31. We have been married for two years and I’ve noticed that if he wants sex, he has a lot to drink first.

I am already body-conscious and this is not making me feel any better.

I asked him about it but he says he is only “in the mood” late in the evening, by which time he’s had a few drinks.

He takes care of himself in the mornings, though, and no drink is involved then.

It can be weeks at a time between us making love.

DEIDRE SAYS: You are jumping to the conclusion this is about you when it is more likely down to your husband’s inhibitions.

Alcohol can stimulate sexual appetite but it is a dangerous prop as it can lead to heart, circulation and erection problems.
