McDonald’s customers have just one week to get their hands on Spicy McNuggets

Fans of McDonald’s spicy nuggets should hurry down to the fast-food restaurant this week as the item is set to get the axe in just one week.

The much-loved item, a slightly spicy version of their original McNuggets, is being removed from the menu on Tuesday 28 January.

To stop fans from feeling too down, McDonald’s are selling the Spicy McNuggets for just 99p today (January 21 2020).

To make use of the promotion you first have to download the McDonald’s App .

Then, either order the tasty nuggets through the app, it’s easy as they behave just like the screens you find in stores, or show the promotion to the cashier.

The spicy nuggets, cousin to McDonald’s long-loved McNuggets, were first launched two years ago in April 2018 for an eight-week period.

They then returned to menus on January 2.

Costing just £3.29 for six, or £4.69 for 20, the chicken breast nuggets are a great deal.

Unlike the regular nuggets, they come with their own special spicy chilli dip – a tasty dip made of tomato puree, rapeseed oil, vinegar, onions, paprika, beetroot juice, red chilli pepper, salt and spices.

When they were first released, some criticised the nuggets and said that, despite the name, they aren’t very hot.

The difference in the recipe is caused by the addition of Jalapeno peppers, paprika and turmeric.

The nuggets have featured on menus in Taiwan, Singapore, Japan and Hungary and come in packs of six, nine or 20.

Each nugget contains approximately 48 calories – meaning you could eat 41 nuggets before reaching your daily caloric limit (based on 2,000 calories per day) although we don't advise this.

So, if you love – or haven’t tried yet – this spicy McDonald’s treat, you’d better hurry up before they’re all gone!
