DEAR DEIDRE: I AM seething with my partner’s family for branding me a gold-digger.
Lockdown suits me fine as I don’t have to see any of them.
Last summer I found out that my partner’s aunty was saying I was with him for his money.
His mum has started repeating the accusations as if they are fact.
I have been with my partner for five years. He is 43 and I am 39.
We both work and I have a 16-year-old daughter from my marriage. She lives with us and I pay for anything she needs.
A year and a half ago his cousin, the aunt’s daughter, lived with us and I thought we got on really well. I cooked for her and did her washing.
But apparently she told her mum I’m all about his money. I feel betrayed and my partner was furious when he found out.
He earns more than me but I am proud and make sure I contribute towards bills.
I’m scared I’m going to lose my partner.

DEIDRE SAYS: It sounds like there are some jealous characters in your partner’s family.
Perhaps his cousin struggles to see you happy.
His mum sounds envious – of the woman, who in her eyes, has taken her son away?
Ask your partner to set the record straight. Then both present a united front at family dos.
Hold your head up high.
