A woman who was bullied by her classmates for dropping out of high school at age 14 now sells lavish properties as a successful real – and lives in her ‘dream’ home.
Alex Yetter, now 22, from Beaverton, Oregon, was forced to suspend her education when she fell pregnant at 14, and later had to live in her parents’ basement to make ends meet.
Looking back, she recalled the moment her world turned upside down when she discovered she was pregnant. She initially tried to keep her pregnancy a secret, but a growing baby bump quickly foiled her plans.
Alex soon became the subject of cruel remarks from fellow pupils and it wasn’t long before she made the choice to drop out of school and have her baby boy Milo, now eight.
The property agent puts her current success down to grit, determination and perhaps a lack of a social life: ‘I felt like I missed out’ said Alex.

‘I wasn’t dating, I wasn’t able to go to all the parties like my friends – I couldn’t relate to them.
‘Looking back now I wouldn’t change anything, because it’s led me to where I am today – I’m living out my dreams’.
After leaving high school and becoming a full-time mom, Alex placed Milo in childcare and enrolled in an online high school course. At the same time she worked in a tanning salon to help pay bills.
Following a gruelling course of hard work, she graduated high school at 18 with her son by her side.
She even managed to move out of her parents’ basement and into her very first home.
Alex said that having to become a responsible adult at a young age motivated her to go after her chosen industry – the world of real estate.
Once she received her realtor license in Oregon, she began attending open houses and networking events to get a foothold in the business.
Her hard work paid off as she is now mixing with millionaires and selling luxury properties for over $2,000,000.

‘I’ve always had a love and desire for real estate’ said Alex.
‘I decided to just pursue that and I have been to networking events, I’m doing the open houses, I am prospecting, I’m doing all these things to try and grow my business’.
Alex now lives in her dream house with her son who she has now enrolled in private education.
‘I’m really grateful for just getting in and getting after what I want to do and not giving up on my dreams’ said Alex.
‘I put in the work, and now I’m living out my dreams.
‘I am blessed to be able to enrol my son into a private Christian school.
‘Early on in my real estate career I was determined to be able to afford the best education for Milo.

‘I’m the youngest parent to pay for the tuition’.
But things weren’t always so rosy for Alex. She remembered her life coming to a standstill in freshman year when her pregnancy test came out positive.
Out of embarrassment she kept her pregnancy a secret. However, when she began showing at 20 weeks, rumours started flying around the school.
Alex instantly became the butt of nasty comments which were made to her on a daily basis.
Alex explained: ‘Before I got pregnant, I was on the cheer team. I had lots of friends; I was pretty well known around the school.
‘So when I found out my freshman year, I actually didn’t tell anybody. The number one reason for that was that I was embarrassed.
‘I was starting to show at the time, and I had people ask me, and I denied it. It was hard.
The mom is thrilled about her milestones so far: ‘We’ve come a long way from being in my parents’ basement at 14 and as a new-born’
‘People that did find out – they said some really nasty and mean things to me.
‘I just had to learn to not care what other people said or what other people thought about me, which was really hard as a 14-year-old girl.
‘I thought I hit rock bottom. I just thought it couldn’t get any worse than it already is right here’.
But Alex remained resilient. She kept her head held high and gave birth to adorable baby Milo when she was 15.
She continued: ‘It is one of my biggest accomplishments, graduating high school, because for some people, graduating high school is no big deal.
‘But for me, it was a lot harder. I had to take a different route than a lot of other people had to take.
‘We’re just happy and content where we’re at. We’ve come a long way from being in my parents’ basement at 14 and as a new-born’.
