Fresh garden vegetables at their peak in summer are a wonderful way to enjoy a healthy and vibrant edible arrangement.
Charcuterie and food stylist pro-Amanda Starley, of Social Spreads, has several ways to display produce and snacks on one big sharable platter.
The Texas-based business owner, who sells boards, boxes, graze tables and classes to learn the tricks of the trade, shared her latest vegetable-centric creation and how to make it at home with “Good Morning America.”
How to make a summer garden vegetable board
Lay down a base of fresh large leaf lettuces or rainbow chard. Place a section of separated endive leaves at the top and bottom of the circular board to begin to create some sections and symmetry.
Using a head of radicchio, slice off a small part of the top to expose the leafy layers. Cut the inside to create a hull that will hold any dipping sauce or spread of your choosing. Place the radicchio “bowl” in the center of the board.
Working from the inside out. Take your sliced vegetables, cucumbers, carrots and snap peas and begin to arrange them in sections around the circumference of the board.
Layer on other like-sized vegetables like cauliflower and broccoli florets, tomatoes, sliced radishes and bell pepper rings to fill in any holes or areas that need more coverage.
Garnish with fresh edible flowers.
Serve, snack and enjoy.
