There are tense and emotional scenes in tonight’s Holby City as the staff battle to save the lives of Dominic (David Ames), Jodie (Sian Reese-Williams) and her baby.
In the aftermath of last week’s car accident, Dominic is in a bad way. Sacha (Bob Barrett) and Hanssen (Guy Henry) find him in his car, impaled with a metal pole. Sacha realises it’s a race against time – if they don’t get him out, he’ll bleed to death right there.
They do manage to get him to theatre, but it’s clear that he’s suffered massive injuries. Hanssen is soon joined by a distraught Ange (Dawn Steele) – having heard the news about her son’s accident, she’s determined to help save his life.
But can she cope with the emotional stress and keep her cool when things start to go wrong? And will Dominic survive?
Jodie is also seriously injured, but her main concern is her baby. She makes Sacha promise that if he has to choose between saving her or saving the baby, he should choose the baby. With the responsibility for his own child’s life in his hands, Sacha fights to keep both mother and baby alive.
In the relative calm of Darwin, Kian (Ramin Karimloo) is getting frustrated about being on desk duties. Will Sahira (Laila Rouass) relent and allow him to get back to his old job?
Cameron (Nic Jackman), meanwhile, has been thinking about his medical career and decides it’s time for a change. But how will Sahira react when he turns up on Darwin and declares that his passion is for cardiothoracics? And will Nicky (Belinda Owusu) be thrilled to have her boyfriend working alongside her?
As Alex (Miles Mitchell) beats himself up about not stopping Jodie from running off and causing the accident, Donna (Jaye Jacobs) is on hand to reassure him that it wasn’t his fault. Are the two of them finally getting closer?
And a patient seems to be taking an unusual interest in one of the staff team.
