Shoppers baffled by PrettyLittleThing’s £100 see-through chainmail dress that exposes everything – The Sun

PRETTYLITTLETHING has baffled shoppers with a chainmail dress which exposes everything – and costs £100.

The online retailer has just made its New York Fashion Week debut, but the unusually high price tag on the collection hasn't gone down well.

American rapper Saweetie modelled the Silver Diamente Chain Halterneck Detail Bodycon Dress, from her own collection, on the runway.

The fast fashion site, which is known for its affordable clothes, describe it as a "glitzy dress" which comes with a matching bandana.

It's unclear exactly how the frock's meant to be worn. PLT's website shows models wearing it as a pool cover-up.

But £100 seems like a lot for a glorified kaftan. Taking to Twitter, DJ Korrinne Sky wrote: "I need to understand why this dress is £100?"

Others moaned: "has to be a typo. they meant £10.00" and "I need to understand why it's selling out."

Some pointed out the expensive dress, which has already sold out in a small, is made from 100% polyester – which doesn't exactly scream £100 price tag.

Saweetie, whose known for songs My Type and ICY GRL, has launched a "fierce but feminine" collection with PLT – which includes a mixture of streetwear and bodycon dresses.
