Savvy eBay sellers flog Kate Middleton's £89 & Other Stories dress for more than FOUR times the price – even though it's still in stock

THE KATE effect is a well-established term in the fashion industry with nearly anything the Duchess of Cambridge wears selling out almost instantly.

And it looks as though her latest ensemble is likely to get the same treatment following her appearance at Chelsea Flower Show yesterday.

Joined by Prince William the royal mum took her three children George, Charlotte and Louis to visit her Back to Nature garden on Sunday.

Kate, 37, looked typically chic in an £89 floral printed dress by H&M’s sister brand & Other Stories as she explored the plot she had helped to design.

And savvy eBay sellers have wasted no time, with several listings already appearing for the frock at sky high prices.

Despite the fact that the dress is still available to buy in five sizes online, it is being listed for as much as £431.11 on the auction site.

Although it is almost five times the retail price the size 6-8 garment has already attracted some interest with several people “watching” the item.

There are further listings for the dress at £375, which include a pair of the £8 Polly Petal earrings from Accessorize that Kate wore yesterday.

However, despite the lesser price and the inclusion of the earrings the listing is still almost four times more than Kate’s ensemble.

The auctions are likely to be the work of so-called ‘fashion flippers’ who buy popular items in bulk and then sell them on at hugely inflated prices.

Kate wore the summery number during her visit to her Chelsea Flower Show garden on Sunday.

The heart-warming snaps, saw doting parents Kate and William playing with children Charlotte, four, and Louis, one, on a rope swing as the duchess unveils her Back to Nature garden, where their youngest son was seen taking his first steps.

In one picture, Wills, 36, is seen holding onto the tot as Louis takes a ride, while brave Charlotte goes it alone.

The Duke is also seen building a den with oldest son George, six, and sitting on a wooden bridge in the tranquil surroundings of the RHS Back to Nature Garden at the Chelsea Flower Show, West London, where the garden is located.

Kensington Palace said yesterday that over the past months Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis have “helped The Duchess gather moss, leaves and twigs to help decorate” the garden.

The Duchess told the BBC in an interview with Monty Don: “I really feel that nature and being interactive outdoors has huge benefits on our physical and mental wellbeing, particularly for young children.

“I really hope that this woodland that we have created really inspires families, kids and communities to get outside, enjoy nature and the outdoors, and spend quality time together.”

The garden, which the Duchess has co-designed, is at the forefront of Kate’s lifelong work on early child development and her mission to support efforts that give every child the best possible start in life.

The pictures were taken yesterday afternoon by photographer Matt Porteous. Kate will return to the garden today to show the Queen around.
