MEGHAN Markle's mum, Doria Ragland has become a grandma for the first time this week – and it seems the 62-year-old is taking her duties very seriously.
According to reports, Doria has signed up for grandparenting lessons with baby expert Brandi Jordan – also known as "The Baby Sleep Fairy".
Based in Los Angeles, Brandi charges an eye-watering £5,000, with A-list clients including Meghan Fox, Rosamund Pike and Julia Stiles.
According to the Mail Online, Meghan's mum Doria will be the latest name on Brandi's list, after enrolling in the baby guru's Cradle Company lessons.
"Some mothers want to forge their own path, and don’t want grandmother to take a strong role in their parenting philosophy; others find strength in grandma and lean on her to encourage, nurture and help them," Brandi told the Mail Online.
Meghan's mum was by her side for the birth of Baby Sussex on Monday morning, after travelling to the UK from Los Angeles three weeks ago.
It's been reported that Doria's mention in Buckingham Palace's official announcement yesterday also indicates the significant role she'll play in Baby Sussex's life.
"The Duchess’s mother, Doria Ragland, who is overjoyed by the arrival of her first grandchild, is with their Royal Highnesses at Frogmore Cottage," it read.
Meghan's dad, Thomas Markle however, was 5,500 miles away at home in Rosarito, Mexico.
Soon after the birth of his sixth grandchild was announced at 6.30am local time, he exclusively told The Sun of his pride.
He declared: “I’m delighted to hear that mother and child are doing well.
"I am proud that my new grandson is born into the British royal family and I am sure that he will grow up to serve the crown and the people of Britain with grace, dignity and honour.
“God bless the child and I wish him health and happiness, and my congratulations to my lovely daughter Duchess Meghan and Prince Harry — and God save the Queen.”
