I custom designed my wedding dress but it ended in total disaster – it was completely see-through, I'm still traumatised | The Sun

FINDING the perfect wedding gown is a moment that many women dream of since being young.

But unfortunately for one woman, her dress experience was something she'd rather forget – and quickly, too.

Jos, who posts under the acronym @jpepaa, took to TikTok and shared a video detailing her "traumatic" ordeal.

In the clip, she begins: "I'm finally able to laugh about my wedding dress nightmare.

"I hated trying on/shopping for a wedding dress – trying on dresses that are not in your size or don't fit, it was miserable.

"I had a vision of what I wanted, so we went the custom design route."

I tried on my wedding dress from 1996 – I had to use pliers to get it done up

I hated my wedding dress & had total regret – I just picked the first one

Jos continues: "We have our appointments, I have my first fitting and the dress is like a skeleton so I'm like 'Ok, it's not what it's obviously supposed to look like."

Next, she shares the inspo picture of her dream dress which she asked the designer to create a replica version of.

The long sleeved-gown features intricate beaded pearls and a plunge neckline, with a silk skirt which falls elegantly from the waist.

However, a devastated Jos shares images of the very different dress she received at her final fitting – two weeks before her wedding day.

"I have legit trauma showing anybody what was made after this," Jos admits.

Analysing the photo, she explains: "First, I have a kangaroo pouch.

"I'm getting pearls hot glued onto my bodice because I said, 'hey I don't really like that the cups show…

The pearls kept popping off and my friends were like, 'oh why are they doing that?'

And she's like 'they're supposed to!'

The post has since racked up over 489,000 views and been inundated with comments from horrified social media users.

"No no no no no this is not how the custom wedding dress experience is or should be!!! I’m so sorry yours went like this," wrote one.

A second penned: "I feel like the design was simply not in the designer’s wheelhouse WHICH IS FINE but they should have known their limitations and been upfront about it!"

Meanwhile, a fourth commented: "I sew and I’m here to tell you, she did a horrible job on design & construction."

Another added: "I mean I get if she didn’t want to copy the design, but clearly a dress like that was not within her skillset."
