Susanna Reid, 49, has been praised on countless occasions for her ability to handle her outspoken Good Morning Britain co-host Piers Morgan. The two go together like peanut butter and jelly, but their relationship is far from perfect.
We’re one of those couples who fight, and it’s not just for the cameras
Their on-air rows have seen them compared to a “married couple”, but Susanna revealed their arguments usually start before they make it to the studio.
“We’re one of those couples who fight, and it’s not just for the cameras,” she explained in her latest Daily Mail column.
“We often have rows in the editorial meeting that we continue on air.”
But it seems to work, as the pair celebrate their five year anniversary presenting ITV’s flagship morning news program.

“I am in a relationship that is constantly compared to a marriage — with Piers Morgan,” she said, confessing he calls her his “TV wife”.
She joked that due to the coronavirus social distancing rules, they are banished from celebrating their landmark anniversary with a hug.
But regardless of their constant bickering, Susanna explained that she will always “represent the other side” of Piers’ remarks even when it’s “unpopular.”
“It’s a dynamite dynamic,” she said before adding: “He needs me to be the yin to his yang.”
The pair met back in 2005, when Susanna was still working for rival show BBC Breakfast.
Piers was a guest on the program about the launch of a children’s newspaper when he was editor of a national tabloid.
He had long maintained they’d previously met but Susanna had no recollection of it, joking she had deleted it from her memory.
“I seem to remember being glad it was only a brief encounter,” she wrote.

“Now we host a breakfast show together, and viewers say it’s like watching ‘mum and dad argue in front of the kids’. Truth be told, by the time I get home, I feel like I’ve been through the wringer.”
She mused that Piers was like “a dog with a bone” when it comes to making his point, never happier than when he’s “in a verbal punch-up and tearing chunks out of someone”.
But throughout the coronavirus pandemic, the 49-year-old revealed that there is now more that the pair agree on.
While criticising his “harsh treatment” of Meghan Markle and his views on feminism, she explained that their joint fury is “directed at the government”.

Piers is adamant that his outspoken style is what’s behind the minister’s GMB boycott, and his partner has some home truths for them.
“It is a dereliction of duty not to address our audience, who rightly feel let down,” she snapped.
“And if ministers can’t face the fight with Piers, I’ll happily remind them that I do it every day.”
Good Morning Britain continues weekdays at 6am on ITV.
