Hot on the heels of the Game of Thrones finale (I won’t spoil it here, but you’ll want this quick rundown, trust me), Sophie Turner is spilling details of her life outside of Sansa Stark, including her relationship with Joe Jonas. The actress and Joe tied the knot in an Elvis-filled Vegas wedding this month, but first they had to deal with some baggage—including a breakup.
“It was the worst day of our lives,” she told the Sunday Times. “For a second, we both had cold feet. Then 24 hours later, we were bot like, ‘Never mind.’”
Okay wow, crisis averted! In the same interview, Sophie said dating Joe “saved” her life, because he was there for her when she was dealing with mental health struggles.
“I was going through this phase of being very mentally unwell… He was, like, ‘I can’t be with you until you love yourself, I can’t see you love me more than you love yourself.’ That was something, him doing that. I think he kind of saved my life, in a way,” she said.

Sophie has been open about having depression, and she told Dr. Phil last month that it began when she was 17 years old.
“It’s weird. I say I wasn’t very depressed when I was younger, but I used to think about suicide a lot when I was younger. I don’t know why though,” she admitted. “Maybe it’s just a weird fascination I used to have, but yeah, I used to think about it. I don’t think I ever would have gone through with it. I don’t know.”
Thankfully, Sophie got help and therapy, and now things are so much better.
