Shaquille O’Neal came to rescue for teen with huge sneaker problem

Shaquille O’Neal knew what it was like to walk in Zach Keith’s shoes.

Touched by the story of a single mother from Georgia, struggling to afford new sneakers for her son who sports size 18 feet, the 7-foot-1 Hall of Fame center surprised the family by purchasing the 13-year-old 10 pairs of shoes.

Brittany Keith had posted a plea on Instagram over the weekend to help her son, Zach, who is 6-foot-2, and plays basketball and football.

“I’m am so overwhelmed with all types of feelings right now. Thanks to everyone who shared my post. You all helped make this happen and kept pushing me to post… Words can’t express how I’m feeling,” Brittany wrote on Facebook.

Zach was stunned to meet O’Neal in person, also receiving some spending cash and the phone number of the basketball legend.

“I wasn’t expecting that,” Zach said. “To meet Shaquille O’Neal, All-Star player, one of my All-Star favorites, surprised, shocked.”

O’Neal, who has size 23 feet, felt a personal connection, having lived with a single mother and having received a free pair of shoes for his high school prom from the store where he bought Keith’s sneakers this week.

“I’m [gonna] take care of the kid today because somebody did it for me,” O’Neal told CBS 46. “I’m doing it for the kid….That should last him for a long time.”
