AceShowbizNicolas Cage will be a father of three in his late 50s. The “Con Air” star is expecting a child with his wife Riko Shibata. While the baby will be his third child overall, it will be his first together with the 27-year-old actress.

Confirming the news was a representative for the “Butcher’s Crossing” actor. “The parents-to-be are elated!” the rep said to PEOPLE, without sharing other details, including how far along Riko is with her pregnancy.

Nicolas met Riko in Japan nearly two years ago through mutual friends while he was filming “Prisoners of the Ghostland“. The pair tied the knot in a very small and intimate wedding at the Wynn Hotel in Las Vegas on February 16, 2021, honoring his late father’s birthday. “It’s true, and we are very happy,” he said of their wedding in March.

The “Kick-Ass” star gushed about his wife at the premiere of his movie “Pig” in July. “I thought she was stunning when I met her. We had a lot in common,” he told Entertainment Tonight on the red carpet. “She likes animals, too, so I asked her, ‘Do you have any pets?’ And she said, ‘Yes, I have flying squirrels.’ She had two sugar gliders. … I thought, ‘That’s it. This could work out.’ “

Riko is Nicolas’ fifth wife. He previously wed Patricia Arquette in 1995 and was officially divorced from the actress in 2001. He then married Lisa Marie Presley in 2002, but filed for divorce after only 107 of marriage. Their divorce was finalized in 2004, the same year he wed his third wife Alice Kim.

His third marriage also ended in a divorce in 2016. He later tied the knot with Erika Koike in March 2019, only to file for annulment four days later.

Nicolas has a 31-year-old son, Weston Coppola Cage, with actress Christina Fulton. He also shares a son, 16-year-old Kal-El, with his third wife Alice.
