Country crooner Maren Morris has teamed up with Canadian singer-songwriter JP Saxe on the new single, “Line By Line.”
Morris first revealed news of the collaboration in September of 2020, when she tweeted that she had been in the writing room with Saxe “all week.”
The new song was co-written by the artists alongside Jimmy Robbins and has been described by Saxe as their best attempt to describe “how big love can be.”
“Love too big for a love song/If I tried to sum it up, I know I’d get it wrong/Sometimes if it don’t sound right/I apologize, I just said it ’cause it rhymed/Four chords, three minutes, you never fit in it/So I just take you line by line,” the pair sing, pouring their hearts out in the chorus of the song.
“It was so effortless, if I could be so bold to say. And I definitely think that us both being in love and in relationships with songwriters, it really felt like something that only we could write, at least this way,” said Morris.
