Little Mix have confirmed their upcoming 2021 tour will go ahead with Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Jade Thirwall and Perrie Edwards despite Jesy Nelson's exit.

Black Magic hitmaker Jesy took to her Instagram feed on 14 December to announce she's leaving, explaining that being in the band has "really taken a toll on my mental health" in a candid statement.

Since then, her bandmates and friends have penned an emotional tribute to the 29 year old, whose ex Chris Hughes also showed his support, while also confirming they'll be going ahead with their tour next year.

Leigh-Anne, 29, Jade, 27, and Perrie, also 27, wrote: "After an amazing 9 years together Jesy has made the decision to leave Little Mix. This is an incredibly sad time for all of us but we are fully supportive of Jesy.

“We love her very much and agree that it is so important that she does what is right for her mental health and well-being. We are still very much enjoying our Little Mix journey and the 3 of us are not ready for it to be over.

"We know that Jesy leaving the group is going to be really upsetting news for our fans. We love you guys so much and are so grateful for your loyalty and continued support of all of us."

While devastated, many of their 13.6million fans were quick to show their support as one person wrote: "I love you girls forever and will always support all of you!" followed by a red heart emoji and a pink heart emoji.

Others couldn't help but think the situation resembled that of what happened to One Direction years ago with Zayn Malik's exit from the band.

"I’m devastated little mix won’t be the same without Jesy I’m crying so hard rn," [sic] one fan said.

Another wrote: "Wooow this reminds me so much of when zayn left one direction," [sic] as a third chimed: "And it’s one direction again." [sic]

Celebrity stars also took to social media to support Jesy's decision as Rylan Clark-Neal demanded people be careful what they say online after Jesy opened up on her battle with online trolls in her candid documentary Odd One Out last year.

He tweeted: "Gutting about Jesy, but good for her for looking after herself. Just remember, that “gag” or “p**s take” you type into your phone on social media about someone can really damage.

"By all means have an opinion of someone but don’t be a p***k. Can really hurt someone."

And Fellow TV star Carol Voderman agreed – and said Jesy should not have ever had to put up with vicious abuse.

She said: "Jesy is a lovely young woman, has decided to leave the band for her mental health. It's appalling the amount of abuse this girl has had to take because she doesn't conform to what is "acceptable" in media. Shame on all the abusers."
