Kate Garraway leaves GMB viewers distracted with fruit pastilles dress

Good Morning Britain viewers were too distracted to focus on the show at hand as they were left surprised by what the ITV show's host Kate Garraway was wearing.

The 55 year old presenter, who recently delighted fans by sharing a sweet snap of her husband Derek Draper, appeared on Friday's edition of the ITV show in a colourful ensemble that made it hard for some fans to focus on the topics being covered.

Mother-of-two Kate's bright green dress, which featured a high neckline, was heavily patterned with several fruits, including bananas, oranges and lemons.

Kate's ensemble particularly caught attention as she sat next to co-host Adil Ray, who kept in line with his usual professional attire of a simple suit.

Viewers flocked to social media to speak of the dress, which they hilariously likened to Rowntree's Fruit Pastilles. One person tweeted: "I mean I love @kategarraway @GMB but who dressed her today @ROWNTREES."

A second added: "@kategarraway looking lovely this morning.bit like a packet of fruit pastilles," while a third cheekily added: "@Jacqui_Smith1 love seeing you on gmb on Fridays, not sure who looks brighter you or Kate this morning both looking stunning @kategarraway."

Another person commented: "@GMB have @kategarraway and @JacquiSmithMP just come from a Starburst advert?"

Nonetheless, it's nice to see Kate be playful with her fashion, especially following the tough few years she has had. Kate's husband, Derek, has been battling the effects of long Covid after he contracted it and fell seriously ill in March 2020.

It comes after Kate, Derek, and their children recently attended a once-in-a-lifetime concert by Sir Elton John.

During the concert, Elton gave a heartfelt speech in which he dedicated one of his songs to them, as he told the audience how the Garraway family had been through some "really tough times" in recent months, but he was so glad that they were there.

"They're inspiring" Elton said. "They've never given up, and I'm so thrilled they're here, I can't believe they are here. I want to dedicate this song to the people I mentioned before, but especially to you guys."

Reflecting on the experience, Kate said: "We were all in tears, the kids, Derek and even the nurses. It was completely unexpected. People around us were so lovely and started clapping, which was an extraordinary moment we will all treasure forever, and Elton made it possible."
