Johnny was best known for his role on the Corrie cobbles as he played lothario Mike Baldwin from 1976 to 2006.
His character had a dramatic exit as he had been suffering with Alhzimer’s for months before collapsing in the street after a heart attack and dying in the arms of Ken.
He appeared in a charity special for the soap as a ghost in 2012.
