Joey Essex ‘welled up’ with emotion on meeting sister Frankie’s twins

Joey Essex's sister Frankie Essex gave birth to twins with her partner Luke Love last month. The loved-up couple have named their newborn twins Logan and Luella, which both mean "warrior".

And speaking to OK! at the TRIC awards last week, "funcle" Joey Essex, 31, gave a glimpse into what it was like for him becoming an uncle for the first time.

"It's amazing, yeah. I'm really proud of my sister," he told us on the red carpet, as he was suited and booted for the awards show at Grosvenor House in London.

When asked what it was like seeing them for the first time, Joey revealed: "It was shocking. I shed a tear, to be honest.

"I welled up because I felt like for a split moment, my life had changed."

He added: "So, I imagine when I have kids, it will be a similar thing."

Joey looked for love on Celebs Go Dating and Celebrity Ex On The Beach. But it is becoming an uncle that has finally persuaded Joey that now might be the time to settle down.

A source told OK! in June that the TOWIE star's sister Frankie, 34, welcoming twins has made Joey, 31, start to think about his future and becoming a dad himself one day.

"It’s been an emotional time for Frankie following the birth of her twins. She’s really missing her mother right now," they said.

"She can’t stop thinking about her. On the other hand, Joey is over the moon – he’s the official funcle!"

They went on to tell us: "Poo and sick is definitely not his thing. But he’s starting to think about settling down and starting a family, he’s got the baby bug."

Frankie recently opened up on "what a dream" it would have been to have her mother here with her today as she continues her motherhood journey.

"Now I realise, when people have their mums around and they help, what a dream that would be, especially when I’m worrying about what could go wrong with the babies," she told us.

"But Mum is here in spirit."

Frankie continued: "My family and friends always tell me I don’t need to worry because she’s looking down on me, and I know she is.

"We’re so blessed, honestly. I believe that the twins were sent to us.”
