Ozark season four is going to be going into production soon with the cast getting ready to work on the last outing. The series will be extra-long with a handful more episodes which will be split in two. Viewers are curious to find out things will pan out for the Byrde family who have managed to evade thus far – but could their luck soon run out?
Ozark saw an explosion of success this year after season three dropped as the world went into lockdown in a bid to stave off the coronavirus pandemic ravaging the globe.
The show saw the return of Marty (played by Jason Bateman) and Wendy Byrde (Laura Linney) as they tried to keep one step ahead of their bosses.
Throughout season three, they continued to receive instructions from the cartel’s lawyer and representative Helen Pierce (Janet McTeer).
She was a looming figure but by the end of the series, she was revealed to be dispensable as Omar Navarro (Felix Solis) gave the Byrdes an unexpected promotion.
How tall is Ozark’s star Janet McTeer?
Many viewers are keen to more about British actress McTeer, who portrayed the hard-nosed attorney.
Helen was very much a looming presence both physically and also because of what she represented.
According to IMDb, McTeer is 6ft 1in or 1.86 m but Celebrity Height as her down as 6ft ½ in or 1.84m.
McTeer has remarked on her height many times in the past, which has seen her tower over her co-stars.
She previously told Cheshire Live in 2009 how her stature was an advantage to her, saying it probably helped from the “perspective of the writers” because you “automatically have presence”.
The British actress, who was born in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne, lives in America with her husband Joseph Coleman, a poet and fashion consultant.
She trained at the prestigious RADA in London before embarking on a career on the stage before making the transition to screen.
McTeer had initially not thought acting would be a career option for her until she watched a performance of She Stoops to Conquer, which changed her mind.
The actress told the Los Angeles Times earlier this year: “I’m six feet tall, and I’ve never been what you would call conventionally pretty.”
She added how she felt after watching the play, which set on the path to acting: “The lights went down and this excitement just welled up and I thought, ‘If I don’t have a go at this, I will regret it.’”
While McTeer admitted her height meant she didn’t get the “tiny, pretty roles”, there were still plenty of parts out there for the star to get her teeth stuck into.
She said she liked to play period and be transported away to someone completely different to herself.
The star admitted she did the same thing when starring in a contemporary project, saying she liked characters who were “very different” to her like Helen.
McTeer explained: “Sometimes I’ll follow someone who walks the way I think a character should walk.
“With Helen, we talked a lot about compartmentalizing. Ozark is about how people deal with their families: How do you deal with bringing this illegal thing into your family?”
Among her other acting credits are Albert Nobbs, Me Before You, Maleficent and Jessica Jones.
