Hayley Tamaddon ‘wants Coronation Street return after Emmerdale snub’

Pregnant Hayley Tamaddon has expressed a desire to return to Coronation Street after bemoaning not making it back on Emmerdale in time for Lisa Dingle's death.

The 42-year-old soap star is currently five months pregnant with her new fiancé Adrian's child and she has spoken about her desire to return to Corrie.

Hayley played Andrea Beckett in the Weatherfield based soap, where she was the love interest for Craig Charles' Lloyd Mullaney and a close pal to Steve McDonald, played by Simon Gregson.

After joining the soap in 2013, Hayley stayed until 2015 where she bowed out during a special live episode that marked Corrie's 60th anniversary.

Hayley opened up about her desire to return, saying: "It would be a dream to go back to Corrie, it really would.

"I see all my friends from Corrie all the time. I’m so close to them. It was lovely to go in the live episode. It was such a celebration.

“But there’s always a chance she could come back to cause a bit of chaos for Steve. Maybe she could run the cab company for a while?”

Hayley has bemoaned the fact that she was overlooked for a return to Emmerdale, where she made her name playing Delilah Dingle between 2005 and 2007.

She has hit back at the ITV soap's bosses for snubbing her as the Dingles gathered to celebrate Lisa and Zak's wedding, before the bride passed away in a bittersweet episode.

Hayley felt like the odd Dingle out when she didn't get the call to bring Delilah back to the Yorkshire soap, and she feels that was an opportunity missed.

Hayley asked: “Why am I not there? I should be causing chaos.”

It would seem that for now, Hayley will be concentrate on becoming a new mother and planning a wedding with Adrian.
