Gogglebox’s Paige Deville ‘spending Christmas Day alone’ after family rift

Former Gogglebox star Paige Deville has told fans that she’s spending Christmas Day alone for the first time ever this year.

The 25 year old, who left the Channel 4 show following a family feud earlier this year, let fans know that she’s remaining “positive” in a post shared on Instagram.

Paige also explained that she’s hoping her honesty will “help other people in the same situation”.

She wrote on Instagram: "Due to many reasons I am spending Christmas Day alone this year.

“A first time for everything but I'm positive and my plan is to eat, drink, listen to music, watch films and be merry.”

"If anyone is in the same boat then drop me a message, don't feel alone and let's use social media to its advantage,” Paige continued.

"Remember that God creates his strongest soldiers by giving them the toughest battles.

"Merry Christmas."

Paige left Gogglebox back in September after a fallout with her mum, Sally, who she appeared on the show with for two years.

Announcing her decision to walk away from the programme, Paige said: “It’s been an experience but one I cannot continue with due to long hours of filming, restrictiveness, control of our actions and opinions & zero aftercare support but hey who cares about ex cast, their NTA winners.”

Channel 4 responded with a statement that read: “The welfare of contributors – past and present – is of paramount importance and robust protocols are in place to support contributors before, during and after taking part in the series.”

Paige later told Birmingham Live: "My mum said she would no longer be filming Gogglebox. The show offered me an opportunity to work with another family member but I didn't want to work with anyone else. My mum and myself had started the journey together and I wasn't going to film with anyone else.

"Also, I had really had enough of filming. I work long hours running my recruitment business and all the filming was becoming too much.”

She discussed the feud with her mum in a series of late night tweets, writing in October: ":To clarify, people thinking I fell out with my mom over gogglebox, my ‘mom’ is an absolute disgrace who I wish to never speak to again due to a serious family issue NOT about a TV show.”

Sally has not responded to her daughter's claims.
