'Dancing with the Stars' Fans Cry Foul, Say This Male Pro Was a 'Victim of Wrongful Eliminations'

Fans of Dancing with the Stars support their favorite professional dancers. These talented performers have their strengths and weaknesses when interpreting the theme of the weekly show. Fans rally behind these pros when their scores don’t match their effort with a paired celebrity and exalt their success when their choreography is well-received. However, there is one mirrorball-winning pro who viewers have strongly suggested was a “victim of wrongful eliminations throughout their career, calling fans to cry foul.

Which male pro continues to have fan support?

Although he has not appeared on Dancing with the Stars since season 25, Mark Ballas continues to be beloved by viewers.

Ballas was paired with violinist Lindsey Stirling for his last season as a pro. Together they placed 2nd. The couple was runners-up to entertainer Jordan Fisher and his pro partner Lindsay Arnold.

Ballas first appeared on the series beginning in season 5, where he partnered with television personality Sabrina Bryan.

Subsequently, he won two mirrorball trophies. His first was in season 6, where he danced with Olympic ice skater Kristi Yamaguchi. Ballas’ second was during season 8, where he danced with Olympian Shawn Johnson.

He came in second during season 14 with Katherine Jenkins, in season 19 with Sadie Robertson, season 22 with Paige VanZant, and Stirling in season 25.

Fans believe Mark Ballas was a ‘victim of wrongful eliminations’

In a Reddit post dedicated to Dancing with the Stars, viewers shared their feelings regarding this perpetual fan favorite. Ballas was featured in a thread titled “Mark was always the victim of wrongful eliminations.”

“It’s shocking to me that he has only two wins…how?? his creativity is unmatched,” wrote one follower.

“He was always a victim of wrongful eliminations. Mark should have been a 5-time champ with Sabrina, Kristi, Shawn, Chelsea, and Katherine,” penned a second Reddit user.

“Before I came to appreciate Len’s critiques, I hated him for how he’d look at Mark’s choreography just because it wasn’t “traditional.” It’s funny because I’ve since learned that I’m a bit of a purist myself. I can also appreciate the creativity that improves upon a dance (because this isn’t a real ballroom competition, it’s just a reality tv show),” claimed a third viewer.

“Sabrina and Mark’s elimination still hurts,” exclaimed a fourth fan of the pro dancer.

What is Mark Ballas doing now?

Since leaving Dancing with the Stars, Ballas wed songwriter BC Jean. Together, they formed a band named Alexander Jean.

They have been performing professionally since 2015 and performed on ABC’s The Queen Family Singalong, where they delivered a powerful performance of “Another One Bites The Dust.”

Current Dancing with the Stars judge Derek Hough danced their rendition to the special.

Hough and Ballas are childhood friends. They first met in Utah, where both lived as children. Ballas’ parents, Corky and Shirley, taught dance in the state. Later, the Ballas family moved to London to instruct young ballroom dancers. Hough moved in with the family, and he and Ballas were students at the renowned dance school Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts. They have remained close ever since.

Dancing with the Stars is currently on hiatus.
