Bradley Cooper and Irina Shayk’s doomed romance – after steamy Gaga performance

Bradley Cooper and Irina Shayk have finally called time on their four-year relationship, just three months after his incredibly steamy Lady Gaga performance at the Oscars.

The Hollywood star and his supermodel girlfriend had a rocky few weeks after the on-stage duet set the internet alight with rumours that the A Star Is Born co-stars were a lot more than just friends.

And while Gaga denied speculation they were together , she did admit that it was easy to act out love for Bradley.

"People saw love, and guess what, that's what we wanted you to see. This is a love song, the movie is a love story," she told Jimmy Kimmell days after the performance.

Viewers watched the sensual show with horrified fascination as Russian model Irina – who had to share the red carpet with Bradley's mum, who he brought along as a second date – pointedly sat in between Gaga and Brad when they came off the stage.

It didn't help that newly single Gaga, who had split from her fiance Christian Carino a week before the awards, continued to be touchy-feely with Bradley even after their duet, sparking claims Irina was jealous when she was pictured with a protective hand on Bradley's chest as he chatted with Gaga.

She even unfollowed the Shallow singer on social media, and Bradley's ex-wife Jennifer Esposito poured petrol on the flames when she commented "Ha!" on a friend's Instagram post that read: "Is there any chance these 2 aren't f**king?"

Even late last year, reports claimed Irina was suspicious of her partner's friendship with Gaga. InTouch reported in October that Bradley and Irina had been "arguing for months" over their bond, with the model getting sick of him "raving" about his co-star.

"It could be just a matter of time before Bradley and Irina call it quits," an insider said at the time.

Sure enough, eight months on and Irina and Bradley have split, with the model moving out of their £3.6million Los Angeles mansion and into her own place.

Custody of their two-year-old daughter Lea De Seine Shayk Cooper is now being decided.

Unusually for such a private couple, Bradley and Irina's pals leaked in April that the pair took Lea out together most days.

"Bradley spends every day with his family. Most days, Bradley and Irina take Lea out for activities together," the source told People.

"Sometimes they just stroll on the beach. Bradley and Irina seem great. He has been all about his family.

"They're focused on their daughter, and they seem happy together."

A celebrity couple who like to keep their private lives private don't tend to leak information about the state of their relationship, unless they want to put a different – more sympathetic – slant on the rumours.

However, Bradley did mention Irina by name in his BAFTA acceptance speech in February, telling the audience: "I have to thank Irina for putting up with me, for all the music I was trying to make in our basement for a year."

More speculation mounted in May when Irina walked the red carpet of the Met Gala alone, with no sign of Bradley.

He was said to be unable to make the fashion event of the year due to a work conflict, as he had to stay in LA to work on post-production of the Joaquin Phoenix Joker movie.

Bradley and Irina first got together in early 2015, weeks after she split from Cristiano Ronaldo and he broke up with long-term girlfriend Suki Waterhouse.

Irina told Hola! magazine around the time of their first dates that she wanted to meet a "loyal" man.

"I thought I had once found the ideal man but it didn't turn out that way. I think a woman feels ugly when she's got the wrong man at her side," she said.

"I've felt ugly and insecure. My ideal man is faithful, honest and a gentleman who knows how to treat women.

"I don't believe in men who make us feel unhappy – they're boys not men," she added.

Bradley, meanwhile, had previously said of his track record with the ladies: "A woman wants a man, not a lapdog.

"I don't think I've ever dated a woman who always got a 'yes' out of me; I'm stubborn. I don't think women really want a yes man."

He also admitted: "When I'm into a woman, I literally can't stop staring. I'm like a little kid. I become completely entranced."
