We are sad to report that Bobby Brown and Kim Ward’s son, Bobby Brown Jr., has passed away at the age of 28. Brown Jr. was discovered in his Los Angeles home on Wednesday, November 18.
The authorities were called at 1:50 pm PST and he was pronounced dead at the scene. There is no suspected foul play.
Additional details surrounding his death are not available at this time.
Brown Jr. appeared alongside his father, stepmother Whitney Houston and stepsister Bobbi-Kristina in the 2005 reality show, Being Bobby Brown.
The past several years have marked unimaginable loss for Bobby Brown, as his ex-wife, Grammy-winning singer Whitney Houston, passed away in early 2012. Four years later, their only child, Bobbi Kristina, died of similar circumstances as her mother. Bobbi Kristina’s then-boyfriend, Nick Gordon was found liable for her untimely death in 2017. He was ordered to pay $36m to the Brown estate, according to The Guardian.
Gordon himself died of an overdose in January 2020.
Brown rose to fame as a member of R&B group New Edition and went on to have a successful solo career. He is also an actor, with roles in A Thin Line Between Love and Hate and Two Can Play That Game. BET created biographical mini-series about Brown’s life in 2017 and 2018 respectively—The New Edition Story and The Bobby Brown Story.
We are sending love to the Brown family during this time.
